Q. How can I volunteer for ETAP?
A. Sexual abstinence until marriage is a serious issue and the teens in our community need to be aware they have a choice to say “No” to sexual advances. As a volunteer you can be trained to facilitate the curriculum (For curriculum information please contact your area coordinator.) and teach in community group settings. You can also support by donating food or drink, help chaperone at coalition meetings and events.

Q. How can I get a coordinator to speak in my class?
A. ETAP coordinators are able to serve schools within Camp Co, Gregg Co, Harrison Co, Marion Co, Panola Co, Rusk Co, Smith Co. Coordinators are able to guest speak on topics such as STD’s, Teen Pregnancy, Abstinence…. For schools contracting with ETAP we offer school based programs called FACTS www.youthsolutions.info and EQUIP, that are designed to be delivered by school teachers to students 5th through 12th grade.

A. There is no cost for ETAP services as long as they are within the 8 counties we serve.

Q. What topics do coordinators cover?
A. A. We teach an abstinence only curriculum. Coordinators teach from a community based program called “Choosing the Best” that is designed for youth 12 to 18 years old and their parents. To find out more, go to choosingthebest.org. |
